Welcome to the Friends of Perry Parks

The Friends of the Parks of Perry Township, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was established in 2004 to develop and maintain parks within the Town of Perry.

Membership dollars are used to purchase seeds, plants, and equipment for park development and maintenance. Future plans include a newsletter, annual meeting, and monthly work days in the parks.

The Friends of Perry Parks invites your participation. Please consider joining us to meet and work with your neighbors to help preserve these beautiful areas for future generations. A variety of membership options are available, including a plan whereby residents can pledge eight hours of labor in the parks in exchange for a one-year membership.

You may email us for more information, or if you'd like a membership form please download and print our brochure.

About the Perry Parks

Perry currently has two parks:

Daleyville Community Park

The Daleyville Park is located on the west side of the Daleyville settlement and is approximately one acre in size. Located on property donated to the Town in 2002 by the Ranum family, it will be developed as a community-based family park.

Hauge Historic District Park

The 30-acre Hauge Historic Park was established as the Town's first park for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the character of the 1852 Hauge Log Church historic site. With much of the park's open area presently undergoing native prairie restoration, it serves to provide visitors from not only the local community but from around the world a location for an inspiring respite from everyday life.

The Hauge Historic District Park also provides both residents and visitors alike with recreational facilities for hiking, picnics, or other passive activities.

As stated by the Perry Historic Preservation Commission our hope is that Hauge Historic District Park will "foster civic pride in the accomplishments of the past as well as promote its use for the education, pleasure, and welfare of all people now and into the future."
