E-Cycle Wisconsin

Under Wisconsin's new electronics recycling law, as of September 1, 2010 most electronic items, including cell phones, are banned from all Wisconsin landfills and must be recycled. These items will no longer be accepted at the Perry Recycling Center after this date!

Are you a Town of Perry land owner thinking of removing property from the Managed Forest Land program? As of September 1, 2010 it is possible to request an estimate from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for the amount of withdrawal tax that would be owed if the owner should decide to remove land from the MFL program. To receive an estimate you must complete and submit DOR form PR-296 alng with the appropriate fee.

Recently, Dane County established two new zoning districts within it's Zoning Ordinance which facilitate Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) programs. As a result, Perry in the near future will likely consider amending it's own comprehensive plan to initiate a TDR program within the Town. TDR allows willing landowners to trade potential development rights (a.k.a “splits”) which may be available to them under town density policies. If you are interested in taking advantage of the opportunities this innovative ordinance offers, the following information may be helpful:

Clean Sweep

The Clean Sweep Program for recycling household hazardous waste is open for the 2010 season! 

  • Normal hours of operation are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  
  • The site is located at 2302 Fish Hatchery Road in Madison, on the corner of Fish Hatchery and Badger Roads. 
  • The last day of the season will be Saturday, October 30th 2010.  
  • Please remember that leaving materials at the site when it is closed is illegal and can lead to a $2000 forfeiture.

RecycleSummer hours are now in effect at the Perry Recycling Center!

In addition to regular Saturday morning hours, the Recycling Center is now open from 6 PM to 8 PM on the First and Third Tuesday of each month through October 5th.
