REQUIRE a building permit from the inspector:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>New buildings, including detached structures (decks, garages).<strong>*<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Additions that increase a building&#8217;s physical dimensions, including decks.<strong>*<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Alterations to the building structure.<\/li>\n<li>Alteration of plumbing, HVAC, or electrical systems.<\/li>\n<li>All electrical wiring (new construction, remodeling, solar projects, inground swimming pools).<\/li>\n<li>All HVAC (new construction or remodeling).<\/li>\n<li>All plumbing (new construction or remodeling).<\/li>\n<li>Accessory buildings (agricultural barns, agricultural sheds, or agricultural accessory structures).<strong>*<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Application to the filled out:\u00a0 <a #800000;\">Projects that DO NOT REQUIRE a building permit from the inspector:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Re-siding, re-roofing, finishing of interior surfaces, replacement of windows, installation of cabinetry, or minor repairs.<\/li>\n<li>Normal repairs and replacements of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment or systems, such as replacing switches, receptacles, light fixtures, dimmers, furnace, air conditioning, garbage disposal, water heater, or water softener.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>BUILDING PERMIT FROM THE TOWN<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>*<\/strong> The construction of new buildings, including accessory buildings, and all additions or additional stories (except the ones exempted\u00a0under section 1.07 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perry-wi.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Building-Ordinance-amendment-for-Swimming-Pools-DRAFT-0814.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Building Ordinance<\/a>) require approval from the <strong>Town of Perry<\/strong> <em>and<\/em> <strong>Dane County<\/strong>.\u00a0 Details on how to apply are listed below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">* Town policies on buildings and their location can be found in the Town\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perry-wi.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Town-of-Perry-Land-Use-Plan-approved-2005.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Land Use Plan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perry-wi.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Building-Ordinance-amendment-for-Swimming-Pools-DRAFT-0814.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Building Ordinance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">* Dane County\u2019s zoning ordinances on building locations can be found in Chapter 10 of <a href=\"https:\/\/plandev.countyofdane.com\/documents\/pdf\/CompZoningRevision\/Ordinance_Text\/Chapter_10_Revised.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dane County Zoning Ordinances<\/a>.\u00a0 *Before submitting an application to the Town, you should confirm with the County that the size and proposed location of the building conform to the County Zoning requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">* Before applying for a building permit with the Town, you may wish to appear informally before the Town of Perry\u2019s Land Use Committee to explain your intent and be advised as to concerns that will need to be addressed before you submit your request. \u00a0Please note that this appearance is for informational purposes only and is not an official request to the Town, and that the Town will not act without an application being filed and the proper fee paid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">* <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Building Permits will not be issued until a site plan has been approved<\/span> by the Town of Perry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">* <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No Building Permit will be issued until the driveway (if needed) is constructed according to the specifications of the Driveway Ordinance.<\/span> \u00a0See the page titled Driveway Construction Permit Application for more information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">For Accessory Buildings (Ag and Non-Ag), Detached Garages, Ground-Mounted Solar &amp; Inground Swimming Pools<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">(These projects <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Require a Site View)<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perry-wi.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Permit-Application-form-revised-2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Permit Application<\/a><i>, <\/i>selecting \u201cBuilding\u201d and the appropriate building type.<\/li>\n<li>With the application, you should include the following exhibits, if applicable:\n<ul>\n<li>Site Plan (unless exempt under Section 1.07 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perry-wi.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Building-Ordinance-amendment-for-Swimming-Pools-DRAFT-0814.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Building Ordinance<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>County Erosion Control Plan (for the Building Site)<\/li>\n<li>Completed Driveway Inspection Report, if a driveway is needed<\/li>\n<li>County Zoning Permit<\/li>\n<li>County Sanitary Permit<\/li>\n<li>Wisconsin Administration Building Permit Application, issued by the building inspector<\/li>\n<li>Land Division &#8211; if required, the fee is $550.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Submit the completed Permit Application (<i>include <strong>original<\/strong><\/i><strong> + <\/strong><i><strong>8 copies<\/strong> of the application and each exhibit)\u00a0<\/i>and a\u00a0<strong>fee of $300<\/strong> to the Town Deputy Clerk, Stephanie Zwettler at 9730 County Rd A, Mount Horeb, WI \u00a053572. \u00a0Email questions: \u00a0<a visit will incur an additional $125.00 fee per site visit. \u00a0However, applications requiring only one site view for approval may be eligible for up to 50% refund.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p noreferrer\">Permit Application<\/a><i>, <\/i>selecting \u201cBuilding&#8221; and the appropriate building type.<\/li>\n<li>With the application, the following non-refundable fees will be charged for to Building Inspections and Building Inspection Fees.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. \u00a0Submit the completed Permit Application and a\u00a0<strong>fee of $15<\/strong>\u00a0to the Town Deputy Clerk, Stephanie Zwettler.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>County Requirements: According to Dane County Planning and Development, the most misunderstood aspect of County permit requirements is that rural landowners believe<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>some buildings are exempt from County permits.<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0Most, in fact, are not. \u00a0To find out which buildings need permits and which ones don\u2019t, you will need to contact\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/plandev.countyofdane.com\/zoning\/zoning_permit.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dane County Planning and Development Office<\/a>. \u00a0They will inform you of their procedures and provide you with the necessary forms to complete.\u00a0 It would be wise to check with both the County and the Town before starting, so you understand what requirements you need
