Stats., grants you the right to appeal.\u00a0 You are encouraged to first discuss your assessment with the assessor.\u00a0 If you determine that you would like to proceed with an appeal to the local Board of Review (BOR), you must provide written or oral notice of your intent to file an objection with the Town of Perry Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the Board of Review meeting.\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:mlprice@mhtc.net\">mlprice@mhtc.net<\/a>\u00a0 or by calling the Clerk at 608-437-4553.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Town of Perry Assessor<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Accurate Appraisal, Inc.<br \/>\nPO Box 415<br \/>\nMenasha, WI\u00a0 54952<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">phone: (920) 749-8098 or (800) 770-3927<br \/>\nwebsite: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accurateassessor.com\">www.accurateassessor.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Open Book<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some property owners have been notified of a change in assessment for 2016. \u00a0To read the letter from the assessor, click:\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.perry-wi.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/2016OpenBookFullMaintLetter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Accurate Appraisal Letter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If possible, you should arrange to meet with your assessor prior to the BOR to examine your assessment records.\u00a0 Assessors maintain a record of your property in the assessment roll.\u00a0 &#8220;Open Book&#8221; refers to a period of time before BOR when the completed assessment roll is open for examination.\u00a0 The assessor is required to be present for at least 2 hours while the assessment roll is open.\u00a0 During this time, you are welcome to discuss your assessment with the assessor.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Board of Review<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you have decided to appeal to the BOR, you must file an objection form with the BOR clerk within the first 2 hours of the BOR&#8217;s first scheduled meeting.<\/p>\n<p>As part of your appeal, you must present evidence proving the assessor&#8217;s value is wrong or your assessment will not be changed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">More information on the Appeal Process<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Wisconsin Department of Revenue has created a guide for property owners regarding the property assessment appeal process:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revenue.wi.gov\/pubs\/slf\/pb055.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.revenue.wi.gov\/pubs\/slf\/pb055.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What if I disagree with the assessment or classification of my property?
