For disposal of household hazardous waste such as oil-based paints and paint-related products, pesticides and poisons, household products containing organic solvents, ignitables, aerosols, and rechargeable batteries<\/em>, use the Dane County Clean Sweep<\/a><\/strong> facility which is now open year-round at their new location, 7102 Highway 12. (at the Dane County landfill site)<\/p>\n

\"recycleoilfilters\"Oil Filters and Absorbents <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Beginning January 1, 2011, used automotive engine oil filters and oil-absorbent materials are banned from Wisconsin landfills. The new law, 2009 Wisconsin Act 86<\/a> was passed in 2009 to promote oil recycling and protect the environment. To help explain the ban, the DNR has developed a new webpage<\/a> that includes information on what materials are covered under the ban and guidance on how to manage these materials.<\/p>\n

\"EcycleWIlogo150x150\"Which Electronics are BANNED<\/span> from Wisconsin Landfills?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Wisconsin, it is illegal to throw away the following items: cell phones, computers, printers, computer monitors, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, fax machines, keyboards, and computer accessories such as hard drives, speakers, flash drives, and modems.<\/p>\n
