TDS Commits to High-Speed Internet Service for the Town of Perry
\n<\/strong>
\nContact TDS to Request a Possible Interim Service Upgrade

TDS Telecommunications Inc. has announced it will bring high-speed internet service to the residents of the Town of Perry.<\/p>\n

In a January 10, 2024, letter<\/a> to State Senator Dianne Hesselbein and Representative Mike Bare, TDS committed to upgrading Perry\u2019s existing low-speed copper wire network by building a new broadband fiber optic network in the town.\u00a0 The new network will offer speeds of over 100\/20 megabits per second (Mbps).\u00a0 The average speed in Perry is 12.6\/3.7 Mbps.<\/p>\n

Town of Perry Chairman Roger Kittleson told TDS he was delighted to read about TDS\u2019s commitment to the Town and looks forward to hearing more from TDS as the project moves forward.<\/p>\n

Under current FCC rules, the high-speed fiber optic service project must be completed by 2028.\u00a0 Until then, it may be possible for some Town residents to upgrade their existing low-speed copper wire internet service to a higher-speed copper wire service called \u201cbonded twisted pair.\u201d<\/p>\n

Town residents interested in upgrading their service to \u201cbonded twisted pair\u201d should contact TDS to request an evaluation to determine if it can be done at their location.<\/p>\n
